International Old People’s Day

On 1 October 1990, International Old People’s Day was declared with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of having a dignified old age, promoting projects that help this population segment remain active in society for much longer.

Each year there is a change of campaign slogan, this year it is aimed at older women in recognition of their work over the years, as they have suffered greater discrimination during their lifetime.

According to the Bank of Spain, as reported in the newspaper El Confidencial, in 2050 there will be two over 65 year olds for every three active people. This accelerated growth in the number of elderly people, which represents a major demographic challenge in Spain, will result in a parallel increase in the number of homes for the elderly and, necessarily, in the tools that enable better management and guarantee the highest possible quality of life for residents.

Horustec is a system that facilitates the real-time location of vulnerable people and assets, such as mobile devices, or even the monitoring of temperature to access nursing homes, health centres and hospitals in a quick and effective way.

It has multiple functions that makes it an extremely useful and innovative tool for the social and healthcare sector.

At Carttec, we want to contribute to improving the quality of life of people, residents or patients, obtaining immediate answers, as well as giving peace of mind to relatives and guardians by providing the security that our elderly need.

Carttec: innovating for the future, revolutionising the present.
