We will be presenting Horustec, the CarttecLAb-developed location tracking solution for use in health facilities, care homes and hospitals.

Horustec is Carttec’s indoor location tracking system built on a platform that brings together latest generation ultra-wideband (UWB) with multiple functions that make this an innovative tool of great use for the social care sector, particularly in residential settings.

The system tracks the location of patients in real time, because the vulnerable such as patients who are confused about time and place may become disoriented or lost within a setting. It allows monitoring of unwanted movement of patients or residents. In response, it sends alerts to staff and triggers automatic processes such as locking doors and setting off alarms. The system is highly effective and offers the security that patients need, so that family and carers do not have to worry.

It also records the movements of healthcare staff, providing a record of visits to residents in the course of the day that gives staff protection against unfounded complaints.

It is key to know where assets like moveable equipment (mobility hoists, specialist beds, treatment and diagnostic equipment, etc.) that are continuously being moved between rooms and floors are, so that they can be located whenever they are needed. The system generates real-time alerts if moveable assets are improperly moved to offer protection against theft.
